I know we were supposed to be going to Eddie Durham, but this is just a little “in-between” thing back to Lonnie Johnson.
Like I mentioned in the original Lonnie post, I just had to go over his “Playing With The Strings” recording (which was recorded in 1928).
I was quite confused when I started out, but some good ol’ Googling revealed some clues.
Apparently he has his 5th string tuned down to a G and his 6th string down to a D, but…
He also has a capo on his 2nd fret.
(I hate writing things out for/with capo, because it confuses the hell out of me, but what are you gonna do.)
So here are the first 30-ish seconds of the recording, just to have the concept down.
Have fun!
